This August, 250 top politicians, decision makers and leaders gathered for the third edition of the highly profiled Sustainable Tomorrow conference. The headline of the event was ‘How to create sustainable success in a changing word’.

The conference was held at Hotel Skansen, a modern hotel and conference centre which, with its sustainable profile, location and offers secured the perfect back drop for the conference. The hotel is located at the shore, with a panoramic view over the ocean, in the picturesque yet lively Southern Swedish village Båstad. Båstad is within easy reach - by train or car - of the international hub Copenhagen Airport and connected with direct flights to numerous Swedish cities including Stockholm at the nearby airport in Ängelholm. At the Responsible Business Events conference October 30th, in Copenhagen you can meet Hotel Skansen and learn more about how you, as an event planner, can benefit from the facilities.

The wellbeing of your delegates is also secured with healthy gourmet food, a wide selection of pampering options and a scenic nature offering the perfect back drop for sports and recreational activities. Here, the focus is on the human being, quality and service is crucial and in the latest survey among their meeting and conference organisers the overall experience was ranked 5,7 on a 1 to 6 scale.

Sustainability is also core of the business. Helle Fromberg, international marketing and PR manager says: “It’s pretty simple. We focus on sustainability because it’s part of being future oriented. We have to contribute, take a standpoint and act responsible for the sake of our environment, our staff and – of course – our guests.”

This is the philosophy, both at Hotel Skansen and the two sister hotels Hotel Riviera Strand and Torekov Hotell, all part of the hotel group Scandinavian Resort. The offers supporting the wellbeing of the delegates are extensive: The restaurants serve healthy gourmet food, and the menu change according to the season. The dishes are mainly cooked from the highly renowned, locally sourced produce and the wine list offers an extensive selection of organic wines. At Torekov Hotel a majority of the wines are organic. The scenic nature gives you the opportunity to hike, bike, golf or just take a walk along the cost. If in search for group activities teambuilding activities such as Da Vinci’s Box, Mountain Biking and Walk & Talk is on display.

One of the main attractions at Hotel Skansen is the Cold Bath house which is accessed when following the 60-metres long wooden pier over the sandy beach and ocean. After a long day in meetings it offers a pampering setting for the mind and body where you can gaze across the ocean in the hot sauna before cooling off with a refreshing dip whatever the season.

“By hosting Sustainable Tomorrow, we were able to showcase that we are a good choice for sustainable conferences. And by attending Responsible Business Events conference we want to put Båstad on the map as an international destination for sustainable events,” says Helle Fromberg.

Hotel Skansen is one of the partners, who are ready to share their knowledge and enter a dialogue with everyone who works with meetings and events at Responsible Business Events conference 30/10 in Copenhagen. At the conference, speakers from Denmark and abroad will deliver case-based implementable knowledge about how and why it is important for companies to think and acts sustainably when hosting meetings and events. Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
