State of Green and Danish Minister for the Environment in China

China and Denmark face many similar challenges arising from increasingly strained water resources, urbanization and climate change. Learning from each other’s experiences will strengthen both countries in their efforts to handle these challenges.

In September, State of Green Executive Director, Finn Mortensen and The Danish Minister for the Environment, Mrs. Ida Auken visited China as part of a delegation strengthening cooperation and business ties.

Danish water companies, utilities and public authorities shared solutions with China to complex water challenges. This happened through a new initiative called Rethink Water. The first results of this initiative were presented in China during the Danish Minister for the Environment, Ida Auken’s visit to Beijing, Zhengzhou and Chongqing.

Danish companies are internationally renowned for their expertise on water resources and with the Rethink Water initiative, the ambition is to share knowledge as a contribution to solving global water challenges.

State of Green’s Executive Director, Finn Mortensen called for the Chinese to find partners and solutions in Denmark. Moreover, the Chinese version of Stateofgreen.com played a central role in the agenda.
